Now You Know (NYK) is a developing online media platform that endeavours to bring into light relevant information on pressing issues in the Philippines. The establishment of NYK in late 2018 is a response to the rampant disinformation and misinformation being primarily spread through the social media. NYK believes in the potential of social media not just as a means to connect and reconnect people from all walks of life, but also to serve as an avenue for fruitful and critical discourses about the societal issues that confront the majority of the Filipino people.

Along with the birth of internet troll farms, fake identities and paid propagandists in 2016, disinformation has bombarded the social media through manipulated and repurposed materials (photos and videos). We have seen facts being deliberately twisted just to serve certain political agenda. In no time, it has become more and more difficult to determine what is factual and what is not.   

Thus, NYK took on the challenge to spark truthful discussions by providing factual and relevant information to the public. Through well-researched videos dedicatedly produced by its then small team, NYK strived to offer useful information to the Filipino netizens beyond what meets the eye.
