The Kabataan party-list announced its nominees for the 2022 national elections during its national convention on Saturday.
Kabataan revealed their seven nominees, which are:
1st nominee Raoul Manuel, president of the Kabataan Partylist, former president of the National Union of Students in the Philippines, former chairperson of the UP Visayas College of Arts and Sciences Student Council former University of the Philippines student regent;
2nd nominee Angelica Galimba, national minority rights advocate of the Tignayan Dagiti Agtutubo Ti Kordilyera para ki Demokrasya ken Rang-ay, regional coordinator for the Youth Act Now Against Tyranny in Ilocos and co-founder of I-Amianan North Luzon Cultural;
3rd nominee Jandeil Roperos, national president of the National Union of Students in the Philippines, former chairperson of the UP Visayas College of Arts and Sciences Student Council and convenor for the Rise for National Education Alliance National, among others.
4th nominee Maria Jianred Faustino, USC councilor treasurer of the UPLB University Student Council, regional coordinator of the the Southern Tagalog of the Kabataan Partylist and former grand radian/president of the UP Chi Epsilon Sorority;
5th nominee Jayvie Cabajes, vice president for Minadanao of the Kabataan Partylist and former chairperson and former college representative of the UP Mindanao College of Humanities and Social Sciences;
6th nominee Vince Alloso, convenor of both the Youth Act Now Against Tyranny in Cebu and the Rise for Education University of San Carlos, former chairperson of the Student Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy of the University of San Carlos and former president of the Biology Integration Organization of the University of San Carlos, among others; and
7th nominee RJ Ledesma, chairperson of the League of Filipino Students in Bacolod, spokesperson for the Kabataan Partylist in Negros, former editor-in-chief of The Spectrum, the official student publication of the University of La St. La Salle, among others.
During the national convention, Kabataan presented its platforms, focusing primarily on ensuring the youth's right to education, also advocating for a more competent and humanitarian response to the COVID-19 pandemic and securing employment for the youth and protecting their rights as employees to work towards the recovery of the Philippine economy from the pandemic.
Kabataan also announced that current Kabataan Party-list Representative Sarah Elago will not run for a third term.
